Studio Refill is a research & design studio based in Utrecht (The Netherlands). The studio has a proven track-record in providing conceptual design services and creative research to both commercial real-estate firms as well as NGO’s. It has been involved in real estate projects in the Netherlands, China, Hong Kong, Nepal and Cambodia. The current focus is on redevelopment of existing monumental structures in the inner city.
Owner and director of the studio is Willem Jan de Hek. He obtained a degree in Architecture (MSc), Building Engineering (BSc) and Practical Theology (MA). Willem Jan has over 15 years of experience working in commercial real estate, both in Europe and Asia. Studio Refill always works from an interdisciplinary approach, co-operating with external experts whenever possible and necessary.
